CONTROLS & MONITORING
A Control System That Watches Every Circuit
PLC-based protection, monitoring, and alarming for every zone on the floor
Every Thermalinc freezer floor system can be equipped with PLC-based control and monitoring designed to detect circuit faults, monitor floor temperature, record events, and provide local alarms — not just an alarm, but a system that protects every circuit individually, watches the floor directly, and keeps a record of anything that happens.
When a temperature problem occurs, we sound an alarm. After reset, the alarm re‑initializes every 24 hours until the issue is resolved.
Protection & Monitoring
Electrical Protection
- Dedicated circuit protection — overcurrent protection isolated to a single zone; a fault on one circuit never affects the others
- GFI protection — ground-fault protection isolated to a single zone, independently monitored by the PLC
- Main disconnect — a single point electrical connection for the system, with lockout/tagout (LOTO), for safe shutdown of the whole system for service
- Far-end voltage monitoring — confirms actual cable energization at the far end of every run, catching a failed-shorted circuit as well as a failed-open or cable/connection fault
Temperature & Fault Monitoring
- Subgrade temperature monitoring — independent, ground-sensing confirmation that each zone is operating within the safe temperature threshold
- Sensor failure detection — alarm indication if any temperature sensor itself fails
- Low-temperature alarms — records and timestamps the duration of any low-temperature condition, not just a hard alarm trip
- Fault logging — every fault is recorded with its precise location, with a troubleshooting guide built into the history
- Individual circuit monitoring — each zone is watched independently, not just the system as a whole
Facility Integration
- PLC control — a state-of-the-art PLC runs and coordinates the entire system
- Local display — color touch screen showing real-time status, circuit-by-circuit conditions, and fault/temperature history, right at the panel
- Audible alarm — 98 dB horn sounds immediately on any fault so it's noticed in an active facility
- Visual alarm — red stack light stays lit after the horn is silenced for as long as the fault persists, so a quiet horn is never mistaken for a resolved fault
- BMS connection — digital output for tying into your building maintenance system
- Peak-demand setback — a remote input allows setback temperature operation during peak electrical hours
