SSR's solve many of the problems associated with traditional electromechanical contactors. They provide the higher speed, longer life cycle, and the reliability required in the fast paced enviroment of today's manufacturing. Carlo Gavazzi has redesigned the solid state relay to remove some of the problems associated with SSR's in the past.
New heat sinks provide a low cost answer to Temperature problems. "Direct Copper Bonding" bonds the heat sink with the SSR to reduce the thermal expansion differenical therefore, providing a higher heat tolerance than traditional SSR's
