SSR's solve many of the problems associated with traditional electromechanical contactors. They provide the speed, life cycle, and reliability required in the speed oriented enviroment of today's manufacturers. Carlo Gavazzi has redesigned the solid state relay to remove some of the problems associated with SSR's in the past.

New heat sinks provide a low cost answers to Temperature problems. "Direct Copper Bonding" bonds the heat sink with the SSR to reduce the thermal expansion difference therefore, providing a higher heat tolerance than traditional SSR's
